Lexus Focuses On Safety

13 December 1999

Lexus has launched a new website that uses humour to focus on the serious issue of safety. LexusSafety.com features animation, sound and interactive demonstrations highlighting both accident avoidance and the protection safety features of the Lexus range.

Visitors to the site can participate in demos, which invite them to test their reaction time with an emergency braking demo, or see how a Lexus can help them stay on track in a handling demo. There is even a protection demo to encourage visitors to put a Lexus through a safety check before it smashes into a wall.

The site, developed by Lexus USA, also features driving tips – including “How to Correct a Skid” and “Braking with ABS” – customer testimonials, and links to non-Lexus safety-related sites such as the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and a child passenger safety site. Finally, for those who want to delve deeper, the site also offers plenty of technical information and illustrations.

UK visitors can get information on Lexus cars and dealers in this country at www.lexus.co.uk

Notes to Editors

The Petersen Automotive Museum, located in the heart of Los Angeles, is one of the world’s largest and most innovative automotive museums. Three floors of automotive history take visitors through time and trace the development of the automobile and its influence on the culture of Los Angeles. The $40 million museum, which is owned and operated by the Natural History Museum Foundation of Los Angeles County, opened to the public in 1994. The RX300 will join more than 175 other vehicles on display at the museum.
