Two Lexus world premieres 

This year marks the arrival of two new landmark Lexus models: the all-new RX large luxury SUV and the RZ 450e, a new, all-electric SUV. 

The RX is a core global model for Lexus and the new generation line-up will include a first plug-in hybrid version and a performance-focused model that uses a new parallel hybrid electric powertrain. Read more here. 

The RZ 450e is the first Lexus to be built on a new platform dedicated to electric vehicles and features front and rear e-Axles with an innovative DIRECT4 all-wheel drive torque control system. Read more here. 

Sounds perfect 

Lexus and its exclusive audio partner Mark Levinson have revealed some of the highly detailed work that goes into designing the bespoke sound systems for each new model. With both companies dedicated to craftsmanship and engineering excellence, they continue to push new boundaries for the quality of in-car entertainment. Read more here

ES updates 

The ES saloon range has been updated for the 2023 model year with the introduction of Lexus’ new multimedia system and other new-tech features. Read more here

Safety first 

Lexus is introducing a world-first technology in combining an electronic door release– e-latch – with a safety system, Safe Exit Assist, that helps prevent doors being opened into the path of cyclists or other vehicles approaching from the rear. The innovation has been warmly welcomed by Dame Laura Kenny, the UK’s most successful female cycling athlete. Read more here

Lexus’s fast future concept 

The Goodwood Festival of Speed hosted the first European appearance of the Lexus Electrified Sport Concept, a future high performance, battery electric sports car that captures the spirit of the ultra-rare Lexus LFA. Read more here. 

UX upgrades 

The Lexus UX compact SUV is in line for some upgrades, including a new multimedia package, a new F Sport Design grade and new colour and upholstery options. Read more here

Dementia aid wins design award 

Rewind, a memory tool for people living with dementia, has won the 2022 Lexus Design Award. The work of designer Poh Yun Ru, Rewind uses a motion-tracking tool that guides people to re-enact familiar gestures; these are then repeated in an audio-visual form on a paired device to help trigger recollection.
