Lexus GB Sells Six SC430 Coupés In One Day
The new Lexus SC430 convertible coupé does not go on sale in the UK until the middle of next year, but after just one day at the British International Motor Show Lexus GB had taken six firm orders with deposits. Not bad given that there is as yet no fixed price for the 150mph plus car.
Being seen in the UK for the first time, the SC430 takes a combination of European avant-garde styling and state of the art automotive technology to create a dream car for boys, young and old.
The retractable hard-top allows the driver to change the SC430 from a convertible to a coupé in a matter of seconds. But true to the Lexus philosophy, there are no compromises. For example, the air-conditioning has been designed to compensate for open top driving and the design guarantees that noise and wind-turbulence are kept to a strict minimum when driving with the top down.
The SC430, along with the all-new RX300, GS430 and LS430, can be seen on the Lexus stand in Hall 2 of the NEC until Sunday, 29 October. The car will make its way to UK Lexus Centres in the summer of 2001.
