Driving – reinvented for the electrified era
Lexus has given an insight into its ambitious plans to use the opportunity of vehicle electrification to deliver a reinvention of the driving experience.
It set out its ambitions at its recent Kenshiki European media forum, stating the driver rewards were central to its development of new vehicles and technologies. Its programme is built on its premium-market leadership in electrified vehicles, established since its game-changing launch of the hybrid electric RX 400h 17 years ago.
The Lexus Electrified Sport is Lexus’s vision for a high-performance all-electric sports car, while technologies such as One Motion Grip by-wire steering and DIRECT4 all-wheel electronic torque control are debuting in the all-new models that are coming to market in 2023. Read more here.
LC latest
The 13-speaker Mark Levinson premium surround sound system designed specifically for the flagship LC coupe and convertible models has been made a standard feature on both models. Further adjustments to the model ranges include the introduction of Sonic Grey as a paint option and the addition of a head-up display and card key to the LC Sport and Sport Plus option packs. Customers choosing the standard LC Convertible now have the choice of an option bundle that includes 21-inch wheels together with semi-aniline leather upholstery and neck heaters for added comfort during top-down driving. Full range information is available at www.lexus.co.uk.
Breathe easy
Lexus is using a new clean air technology, Pansonic’s nanoe X™, to help suppress viruses, bacteria, allergens and bad odours inside its cars. The system introduces billions of microscopic water particles into the cabin through the air conditioning system to create a cleaner, healthier cabin atmosphere. Read more here.
RX excels in safety
The wide-ranging active and passive safety features in the all-new RX have helped secure a top five-star rating in independent testing by Euro NCAP. Upgraded UX
Lexus’s all-electric compact SUV is set for a significant performance upgrade in 2023. The UX 300e will reap the benefit of a new, more powerful battery that will extend its driving range by around 40 per cent – up to 280 miles. The hybrid electric UX 250h has meanwhile gained a new F Sport Design grade in its line-up and adopted the latest Lexus safety and multimedia systems. Read more here.
RX with a performance edge

Purple perfection
The launch of Marvel Studios’ new adventure feature Black Panther: Wakanda Forever brought Lexus together with adidas to create a Wakanda-themed, one-off version of the RX SUV, complete with a shimmering purple full body wrap. The special exterior and interior designs were produced by students at adidas’s S.E.E.D. design school and Lexus’s CALTY design centre in the USA. Read more here.
