More Models, Faster Growth, Same Lexus Luxury And Service
Lexus sales growing faster than any other premium manufacturer
The year has got off to a powerful start for Lexus, which has posted the fastest growth of any leading premium car manufacturer during the first three months of 2014.
Energised by the introduction of the new IS and CT 200h in recent months, Lexus’s performance in Europe* is particularly strong, with 7,216 sales in the first quarter, an increase of 32 per cent on the same period last year.
Not only is this rate of growth way ahead of any of its rivals, the sales volume puts it within striking distance of Jaguar (on a global basis, Lexus has long outsold both Jaguar and its Land Rover sister brand).
Worldwide, Lexus sales grew by a luxury segment-best 16.8 per cent to 131,077, – almost double the rate achieved by BMW.
The UK remains a strong market for Lexus where the growth rate is even higher. Sales for January to March reached 3,040 units, up more than a third on 2013’s result.
Lexus continues to develop and expand its model ranges to appeal to an even wider customer base, adopting more distinctive, contemporary styling and entering new areas of the market, as with the new NX compact crossover unveiled at the Beijing motor show this week and the forthcoming RC coupe.
While these changes help build the brand’s appeal and market momentum, Lexus still remains true to the principles of luxury, advanced technologies and exceptional customer service that have been at the heart of the brand since its introduction.
