Lexus retains industry-leading status in latest franchised dealers’ survey

29 May 2026

Lexus has retained its position as the top-ranked manufacturer among the UK’s franchised car dealerships. The brand dominated the results of the latest dealer attitude survey by the National Franchised Dealers Association, the industry’s leading trade organisation representing more than 4,500 outlets nationwide.

Regarded as a critical barometer of opinion in the retail automotive sector, the survey shows how Lexus is regarded as the most trusted, supportive and profitable franchise – qualities that directly support the delivery of exceptional service to customers.

The NFDA’s winter 2026 survey, released this week, saw Lexus achieve the highest overall manufacturer rating with 9.3 points out of a possible 10. This was calculated from responses to questions covering key business areas, including the value of the franchise, dealer-manufacturer relationships, products and marketing, operations and electric/plug-in vehicles.

Significantly for Lexus, it achieved the top rating for the quality of guidance provided to its dealers, response to communications, the fairness of the standards it requires and the ease of doing day-to-day business, reflecting the strength of the relationships the brand forges with its centres.

Other top points scores were achieved across a broad spectrum of issues, including the level of capital investment dealers are required to make, the cost of meeting franchise standards, the financial support provided by the manufacturer and the quality of technical support. The quality of training and the help offered by field staff were top-rated, as were parts processes, availability and pricing and the fairness of the warranty programme. Lexus’s used vehicle programme also recorded the highest rating.

Chris Hayes, Director of Lexus in the UK, said: “The NFDA survey results reflect the importance we place on building strong, lasting relationships with our centres. With this close connection, we understand the challenges our retailers face and work with them to provide the right products, programmes and support. The benefit of this goes beyond creating a healthy and stable business partnership to ensuring our customers enjoy the best possible service.”
