Lexus News In Brief
I’VE WON THE LOTTERY, NOW I CAN HAVE MY DREAM CAR!
“I’ve won the lottery, now I can have my Lexus,” said Ian White, the first £1,000,000 jackpot winner of online lottery www.thedailydraw.com. Ian plans to celebrate by purchasing a new Lexus IS200 as well as a new house with a driveway to park it on.
Ian, 58, of Grays in Essex and a long time Lexus fan has been playing the free to enter daily draw for nine months and always had an inkling that he would win a large sum of money. He chose the IS200 as his dream car, not least as it offered him the most supportive and comfortable seating.
SC430 – REFINEMENTS FOR 2003 MODEL YEAR
The highly successful SC430, flagship of the Lexus range, has been updated for the 2003 model year. Suspension has been re-tuned and incorporates different springs and dampers for an even higher standard of Lexus ride quality and refinement. Tyres too, have been revised with the fitment of a conventional design as opposed to the previous run-flat type – the size remains the same at 245/40 ZR18.
SC430 is now equipped as standard with the Dunlop ‘Fill and Go’ tyre inflator system in place of a spare tyre to allow drivers to carry out a roadside repair. This device re-pressurises the tyre after filling it with a latex rubber compound, allowing the driver to reach the nearest Lexus Centre or tyre specialist. The inflator unit does not intrude on luggage space as it is stored underneath the boot floor.
THE SOUND INSIDE
For the 2003 model year, the GS range now features Mark Levinson premium audio as standard equipment. This audio system features a custom designed amplifier and eight
specially designed speakers including a new centre dash mounted speaker for more detailed surround sound. Mark Levinson is a US based manufacturer of bespoke home hi-fi systems ranging from £15,000-£80,000 and is already standard equipment on the LS430 and SC430 models. Lexus is the only car manufacturer to offer Mark Levinson equipment after the company judged the interior acoustics of Lexus vehicles as appropriate to experience the ultimate audio.
