Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept breaks cover
Lexus has a great track record for unveiling exciting new concept models at the Detroit motor show and this year the limelight was taken by the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept. The car represents Lexus’s vision of a new kind of model – the flagship crossover. Created at the CALTY studio in California, it is designed to accommodate multiple powertrain options, including hybrid and fuel cell-electric. Read more here.
Takumi craftsmanship meets high technology
Lexus is proud of its highly skilled Takumi craftspeople and their contribution to the luxury quality of its vehicles. As a prime example of their attention to detail, the dramatic spindle grille of the new Lexus LS has been created through months of painstaking work, hand-adjusting thousands of separate facets and hand-finishing metal moulds to tenth-of-a-millimetre accuracy. Race star Pruett takes on ambassador role
American racing superstar Scott Pruett will hang up his helmet after a long and distinguished career on track, following his planned final drive in a Lexus RC F GT3 at the Rolex 24 at Daytona later this month. He will continue his successful relationship with Lexus, however, as a leading ambassador for the brand. Read more here.
LC to race at the Ring…
The Lexus LC flagship coupe will make its official European racing debut this year, competing in the famous 24-hour race taking place at the Nürburgring in Germany, in May. The car will be powered by a modified version of the LC 500’s V8 engine and will be piloted by an all-Japanese team of four drivers. Read more here.
…and is named Britain’s best coupe
Back on the road, the LC has also picked up the honour of best coupe in the annual UK Car of the Year awards. It success qualifies if for consideration for the overall car of the year title, to be announced later in January. Read more here.
