Lexus LBX crowns a dazzling debut year, retaining the What Car? Small SUV of the Year title
- Compact hybrid crossover is a repeat winner of the What Car? Small SUV of the Year award
- Honour sets the seal on a remarkable debut year for the LBX, now established as Lexus’s best-selling model in the UK
The Lexus LBX has achieved the distinction of becoming a What Car? Award winner for two years in succession, retaining the title of Small SUV of the Year in the 2025 honours.
Its success follows on from its dream debut a year ago when it was named the What Car? Car of the Year, in addition to winning its SUV category.
During the past 12 months, the LBX has fulfilled its promise as a game-changing model, bringing authentic Lexus craftsmanship, luxury and refinement into one of the most fiercely contested market segments. In its first full year on sale, it established itself as the brand’s best-selling model in the UK and helped secure a new record sales volume.
Steve Huntingford, What Car? Editor, said: “The LBX may be the smallest Lexus you can buy, but inside it looks and feels very much like the brand’s larger SUVs, combining plush materials with superb build quality. Dynamically, the LBX strikes a fine balance between comfort and control. Meanwhile, its hybrid engine combines outstanding frugality with gutsy performance.”
Chris Hayes, Director of Lexus in the UK, said: “This award is much appreciated, it sets the seal on establishing LBX as the prime contender in its class, and a key part of our strongest model range yet.”
