Lexus Introduces New IS 200t and Adds New Sport Grade to CT and IS Line-up

Lexus is adding more driver and style appeal to its IS saloon and CT hatchback ranges, launching the turbocharged IS 200t and adding a new Sport grade to both line-ups.

IS 200t
The new IS 200t marks the arrival of Lexus’s 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the sports saloon range, alongside the established full hybrid IS 300h. Matched to an eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission originally developed for the RC F high-performance coupe, it adds an extra performance dimension to the rear-wheel drive IS, delivering 241bhp and 350Nm of torque for seven-second 0 – 62mph acceleration and a 143mph top speed.

The new model is available in three grades: Sport, F Sport and Premier, with equipment specifications matching those of the equivalent IS 300h.

Sport grade is new for autumn 2015, delivering a number of attractive sports-themed styling touches including five-spoke black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black finish for the front spindle grille and matching black door mirror casings. In the cabin the trim is unique to the grade, with combination black cloth upholstery and light grey Tahara leather effect seat bolsters and door grips with contrasting light grey stitching and inserts. The front seats have integrated heaters and the Lexus Navigation system is also fitted as standard. In other respects the equipment features match the IS Luxury grade, including front and rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, dusk-sensing HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, Smart Entry and push-button start and a six-speaker Lexus audio system with DAB and Bluetooth.

The on-the-road prices for the new IS 200t are £28,995 for the Sport, £31,495 for the F Sport and £35,750 for the Premier. The new IS 300h Sport costs £29,995 on the road. Orders can be placed from next week with first deliveries to customers in November. The IS range also offers new body colour choices, adding Fuji Red (solid finish), Sonic White and, exclusive to the F Sport, Azure Blue.

CT 200h Sport
The Lexus CT 200h full hybrid hatchback also gains a new Sport grade, with details similar to those featured on the IS.

It extends the specification of the previous Advance Plus model, adding a black front spindle grille, door mirror casings and a rear diffuser, plus 17-inch black alloys. A sunroof and the Lexus Navigation system are also standard, together with a black cloth and Tahara interior trim with contrast light grey stitching.

Other standard features include heated front seats, Smart Entry and push-button start, front and rear parking centres, Lexus Navigation with remote dial control, cruise control, rear privacy glass, six-speaker audio system with DAB and Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control and rain-sensing wipers.

The CT 200h Sport also comes as standard with a choice of metallic paint and the exclusive no-cost option of a contrasting solid black finish for the roof. Lexus has also introduced new Graphite Black and Deep Blue shades, available for all CT 200h models.

The CT 200h Sport is available to order from next week, price £25,495; first customer deliveries will be in November.
