Lexus celebrates craftsmanship and showcases the all-new NX, at the Hampton Court Artisan Festival, 13-15 May
Lexus is sponsoring the Hampton Court Artisan Festival, from 13-15 May, presenting its all-new NX compact SUV as the star of its electrified vehicle line-up, and hosting live demonstrations by artist Claudia de Sabe.
The event will give visitors a perfect opportunity to take a close-up look at the NX and also take a test drive in the plug in hybrid version. This model, the NX 450h+, is Lexus’s first PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) and it reaps the benefits of advanced auto technology to deliver low emissions, great fuel economy and a generous all-electric driving range. It will be on display at Hampton Court alongside the NX 350h full hybrid electric model and the all-electric UX 300e compact SUV.
The new NX is an appropriate choice for a festival celebrating artisan skills as it showcases how Lexus applies the traditions of Japanese takumi craftsmanship to its vehicles. Painstaking attention to detail, precision methods and the use of high-quality materials create an authentic luxury that is unique to the brand. In the NX, this combines with Lexus’s omotenashi hospitality to give the car’s interior the look and feel of a luxury lounge.
Test-drives of Lexus’s electrified models will be available to festival-goers on a first-come, first-served basis. They will be able to experience the NX 450h+ or the UX 300e on a route through the Home Park estate at Hampton Court, accompanied by a Lexus professional driver.
Lexus will also be celebrating takumi craftsmanship with live demonstrations by artist Claudia de Sabe, who describes her style as “western traditional meets Japanese.” She will be creating an original artwork featuring light boxes set within a Japanese water tiger mural, linking to Lexus’s electrification theme at the festival.
Known primarily for her work as a tattoo artist, de Sabe was commissioned by Lexus last year to create the world’s first tattooed car. This unique version of the Lexus UX will also be on display at is the festival as a celebration of fine craftsmanship and traditional Japanese artistry.
