Enhanced Specification for Lexus IS200/IS300 Range
Spring is a season for change and for Lexus it heralds the introduction of improved specification for its best-selling IS200 and IS300 models. The changes are subtle, but add touches of extra style, luxury and sporting character to the range.
Black or beige leather upholstery and new-design 17-inch diameter 11-spoke alloy wheels are added to the already generous standard specification of both the IS200 SE and IS200 Sport models. Owners also have the option of factory-fit parking sensors that are neatly matched to the colour of the bumpers.
Where the Sport is concerned, driving pleasure is heightened with the introduction of a new short-throw gearlever for the six-speed manual transmission, allowing for quicker and more precise up and down shifts.
The IS300 saloon also benefits from new 17-inch 11-spoke alloy rims and all new-specification IS models are distinguishable by their new tinted rear light clusters.
Both IS200 and IS300 continue to use Lexus’s smooth and responsive straight six-cylinder engines, the 2.0-litre unit in the IS200 delivering 153bhp and the IS300’s 3.0-litre block producing 211bhp. Transmission options are a 6-speed manual or 4-speed ECT-i (Electronically Controlled Transmission – intelligent) automatic in the IS200 and a 5-speed ECT-i automatic for the IS300.
The new specification IS range is available to UK customers now. Prices will rise slightly, in line with the improved specification and a general increase of an average one per cent. New pricing details are given in the table below.
