Lexus LBX honoured as Best Value Premium Car in the Best Cars of the Year
The all-new Lexus LBX continues to enjoy an award-winning debut, being named today as the Best Value Premium Car in the Best Cars of the Year.
Value and premium might be considered conflicting qualities, but the award recognises how Lexus has delivered a compact hybrid SUV with no compromise in the luxury and refinement for which the brand is world-renowned. Moreover, true to its mission to “make luxury personal” Lexus gives LBX customers a wealth of choice across trims, colours, finishes and equipment features to help them create a car that’s perfectly tailored to their tastes and preferences.
The LBX’s success was announced today at The British Motor Show, which takes place until this Sunday, 18 August, at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire. Peter Lyon, Best Cars of the Year’s Japan Bureau Chief, said: “Whether parked in front of a country manor, opera house or town house, the LBX looks like it belongs there thanks to its stylish, sharp and luxurious lines. Its classy cabin ambience, futuristic dash and perceived quality make it appealing while its well- damped suspension delivers a sporty but comfortable ride and its hybrid system produces enough power for the discerning driver.”
The LBX is fulfilling its promise by becoming Lexus’s best-selling model just six months on from its launch. In the second quarter of this year – its first full quarter on sale – it claimed a 16.6 per cent share of its premium market segment.
All versions use Lexus’s new 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid system, with the choice of front or all-wheel drive, ensuring excellent fuel and emissions efficiency with a quiet, smooth and comfortable ride.
The entry point to the range, the LBX Urban, demonstrates the Lexus attention to detail. Premium equipment features provided as standard include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with an Automatic High-beam System, Lexus Link Connect multimedia system with 9.8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), E-latch electronic door release, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
The LBX, in common with all other Lexus models, also offers customers the unique benefit of manufacturer warranty protection that can extend to 10 years or 100,000 miles.
