Lexus Sponsors Debut Art Installation By Will.i.am At The Barbican
Lexus is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Pyramidi, the debut gallery artwork by will.i.am. The installation, designed by the musician in collaboration with artist Yuri Suzuki, is featured in the Digital Revolution exhibition, opening today (3 July) at the Barbican arts centre in the City of London.
Pyramidi explores the interface between analogue and digital music in a live gallery experience featuring project-mapped visuals accompanied by a new song composed by will.i.am, frontman of the supergroup Black Eyed Peas.
It forms part of Sound and Vision, a part of the show which explores how digital has influenced the way music is visualised, featuring also works by artists such as Björk, Brian Eno, Radiohead, Squarepusher and Chris Milk.
Lexus’s support of the Digital Revolution exhibition builds on the brand’s heritage of technology and innovation. By partnering with will.i.am in this live gallery experience, Lexus celebrates its continuing commitment to creativity and design.
Allen Uyttenhoven, Head of Lexus Europe, said: “Design, technology and innovation are deep-rooted in Lexus and we believe that will.i.am’s installation captures this ethos artistically, reflecting the Lexus mantra of Amazing in Motion.
“As with any sponsorship, a sense of shared values and ambitions is essential. The installation will.i.am has produced is like Lexus in being progressive and pushing creative boundaries.”
