Changes At Lexus GB
After almost five years with Lexus as General Manager, Kevin Flynn is leaving the Toyota family to pursue his career within the car retail organisation AFN. He will take up his new appointment shortly. The directors of Lexus thank Kevin for his contribution to the development of the business in the UK.
Since the UK launch of the Lexus franchise in 1991 the brand has experienced considerable growth and, in 1998, with sales up by 60 per cent year on year was the fastest growing car brand in the UK. 1999 will bring the launch of the new IS200 and the establishment of a new, separate network of more than fifty Lexus dealers. The UK is the second largest market for Lexus in the world with only the USA ahead in Lexus sales volumes.
Andy Goss, Sales Director of Toyota (GB) Ltd and one of four executive directors of Lexus (GB) Ltd, will be responsible for the operational management of Lexus until a replacement for the role of General Manager – Lexus is announced.
Expanded Field Team
The field team supporting the dramatic growth of Lexus in the UK has been expanded. Joining Mark Strong as Lexus Retail Operations Managers are Karl Davis, who joins from Volvo, and David Howell who joins from Mitsubishi. These three will be responsible for the South, North and Midlands territories respectively.
Further, a new position, that of Lexus Corporate Sales Manager has also been established to handle the anticipated growth in corporate and leasing business that the new IS200 model will bring following its introduction in late May. This appointment will be the subject of a separate announcement shortly.
All four of these field roles will report to Stuart McCullough, Lexus Sales Operations Manager who is based in Redhill, Surrey.
