Lexus today announces prices and opens ordering for the new RZ. The electric luxury SUV benefits from comprehensive technical upgrades and a new-look range that includes the first RZ F Sport model.
The RZ benefits from significant technical innovations and revisions, fully realising the performance and handling potential of its battery electric powertrain and platform. Reinforcing its status as a technology pioneer, Lexus is introducing the first RZ F Sport with a new steer-by-wire system, complete with new-design steering wheel, that is intuitive to use with responsive performance and reassuring feedback.
All elements of the BEV powertrain have been revised to yield greater performance and efficiency, including the introduction of a new 77kWh battery pack. Together with revisions to the car’s eAxles to reduce energy losses and deliver higher output, this has increased maximum power, delivered faster acceleration and extended the driving range to up to around 353 miles (provisional WLTP figure, RZ 350e FWD model).
The new line-up includes the first RZ F Sport. This performance flagship has Direct4 all-wheel drive as standard and benefits from the Lexus-first Interactive Manual Drive virtual manual gear shifting. The driver can choose to engage the system which gives the sensations of manual gear select in a battery electric vehicle, creating a more engaging driving experience with a deeper connection between man and machine.
