Unmatched 10-year/100,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty

Lexus offers a warranty package of up to 10 years or 100,000 miles on all its vehicles, protection that’s unmatched in the luxury car market. It is provided free of charge and applies to all vehicles – new, nearly new and those which have passed through multiple ownerships.

The warranty comprises an initial three-year/60,000-mile warranty, included as standard on all new Lexus models, followed by up to a further seven years of service-activated warranty.

When the new car warranty period expires, customers can benefit from an additional 12 months’/10,000 miles’ warranty when their vehicle has a qualifying service at an authorised Lexus workshop. This can continue until the limit of 10 years or 100,000 miles is reached (terms and conditions apply, full details at www.lexus.co.uk). The additional cover is applied automatically, with no additional charge.

Connected to your car, 24/7

The Lexus Link app keeps you connected to your car at all times and gives you access to useful functions such as locking/unlocking the vehicle and activating the air conditioning system to heat or cool the cabin before you make a journey – ideal for clearing the screens on a frosty day.  “Find my Car” can guide you to your vehicle when it’s parked in an unfamiliar place; it can also share your location with anyone who might need it.

The app can warn you if you have left your car unlocked and it can provide coaching on how to get the best out of the self-charging hybrid system, based on your driving history. With Lexus Link you can book your car in for service, organise reminders for service dates and keep track of its maintenance history.

There are further benefits for electric vehicle owners who can check the level of battery charge and schedule and monitor recharging. For an additional subscription, customers gain access to thousands of recharging locations across the UK and Europe.

Peace of mind security

Lexus designs-in extensive measures to protect its vehicles from theft, including insurance industry-approved immobiliser and alarm systems. But it isn’t just the latest models that benefit: this summer the company has launched a groundbreaking initiative with security specialist Tracker Network (UK) to provide free fitment of a Tracker S7 device to eligible cars.

Customers can contact their local Lexus centre to enquire if their vehicle would benefit from the device. Alternatively, they will be informed of the option when their vehicle is undergoing service, maintenance or repair. The Tracker devices will be supplied and fitted free of charge, inclusive of a three-year subscription. 

The benefit also extends to Lexus Approved Used vehicles, with all suitable cars automatically being given a security upgrade with the Tracker technology.  

As a second layer of protection, customers can download the Tracker smartphone app, providing a host of additional features, including setting a geofence alert. This automatically warns the owner if their vehicle is detected travelling beyond pre-set locations. 

Bespoke Lexus insurance products

Moving away from a one-size-fits-all mindset, Lexus Insurance is designing new policies tailored to specific models and offering innovative customer benefits.

Launched earlier this year, Lexus RZ Insurance is Lexus’s first mileage-based insurance, with the potential for policyholders to receive an end-of-year refund. The amount of refund is calculated by comparing the policyholder’s declared miles and the actual distance they cover during the policy term. When purchasing the insurance, the customer declares the mileage they forecast they will travel in their RZ in the next 12 months and this is factored into the cost of the premium. At the eleventh month of the insurance period, the total for the whole year is calculated; if this is less than the declared mileage, a refund is calculated based on what the insurance premium would have been using the lower mileage figure. Hybrid insurance is also being rolled out, initially introduced for the LBX compact SUV and recently extended to other Lexus self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. These policies offer reductions of up to 25 per cent on the cost of renewal premiums, subject to the vehicle covering more than a certain percentage of its annual mileage in all-electric EV mode. All Lexus Insurance products include a range of benefits as standard. These include automatic courtesy car cover (subject to availability) if your car is off the road for repair; repairs carried out by approved repairers using genuine Lexus parts; and a 24-hour emergency helpline.

Lexus Homecharge

Lexus HomeCharge is a domestic wallbox charging system designed specifically to integrate with Lexus electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles and the Lexus Link app.
