UK DEBUT FOR NEW LEXUS FLAGSHIP
Lexus arrives at the British International Motor Show in exceptional form. A series of new product launches in the past 18 months have revitalised its model range and powered a big increase in sales, both in the UK and Europe.
The London event will mark the UK debut of the next new-generation Lexus flagship, the LS 460 limousine, which will go on sale in November. It promises to raise the bar even higher in the luxury market, with new high levels of refinement, comfort and performance.
Marking the introduction of a number of world and segment-first technologies, it will deliver unparalleled levels of both active and preventive safety, including more sophisticated Pre-Crash Safety protection and the world’s first pre-crash system that operates at the rear of the car.
The LS 460 will use an all-new 4.6-litre V8 engine, matched to the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission. Early performance indicators show an output of around 375bhp (380 DIN hp) and more than 500Nm of torque. The engine’s advanced dual injection technology helps achieve strong fuel economy, with combined consumption expected to be in the region of 25.4mpg.
INNOVATIVE AND POWERFUL MODEL RANGE
The new LS 460 will be joined by the complete current Lexus model range, demonstrating the tremendous advances Lexus has made in style, quality and technical brilliance.
The RX 400h and GS 450h represent the successful introduction of the Lexus performance hybrid power system into the premium SUV and executive sports saloon segment.
Also on display are the recently-launched RX 350, equipped with a new 3.5-litre V6 engine with dual VVT-i intelligent valve timing, the new IS 250 and IS 220d compact sports saloons, the GS 300 premium saloon and the SC 430 coupe-convertible.
